My husband had a very good point. I write these makeup blogs all the time, but not everyone’s 100% makeup days are the same. To you, my makeup may look like a drag queen. To me, your makeup may look plain. I guess I had thought about this, but not really THOUGHT about this.
Anyway, this sparked a thought. No one’s makeup is the same, we all know that. A teenage girl with acne and a middle aged woman with dry skin very obviously can’t use the same products. That is a big duh. But we don’t all use products the same either. Good example? I have acne, and blemish prone skin. So, some days instead of using a primer I use my (sticky) acne treatment before putting my makeup on. No matter what, you
NEED, HAVE TO, ABSOLUTELY MUST have a skin care routine.
This simple, step-by-step routine covers the basic types of products everyone should use and the order in which to use them every day. These steps apply regardless of your skin type (oily, dry, normal, or combination).
Essential Routine: EVENING
Your Advanced Routine
The Advanced Routine includes targeted treatments you can add to your Essential Routine to treat your personal skin-care concerns, such as acne, red marks, wrinkles, sun damage, brown spots, or rosacea.
For example, if your sole concern is dry skin, you’ll do fine by following the Essential Routine. But if you have dry skin and wrinkles or oily skin and wrinkles and breakouts you will want to follow the Advanced Routine for best results.
Advanced Routine: MORNING
Advanced Routine: EVENING
- Optional: Targeted treatment, as needed, applied before or after your treatment product.
So, why should this interest you? Why should you care? Because not everyone’s skin is the same. You can Google makeup tips, read blogs, and study up on makeup until you are blue in the face, but if you aren’t taking care of your skin it’s useless. Above there are linked products to the PaulasChoice website to let you know what you need to be using. Make it a habit. Write down the steps. Put them on your mirror. Make sure you are treating your skin right.
